ERP Selection & Transformation Strategy

Choosing the wrong platform is an expensive mistake that takes years to unwind. I help organisations navigate selection without being captured by vendor sales cycles — starting from real business requirements, building a financial model that survives the CFO, and producing a board-ready recommendation.

As adviser I run the process alongside your team. As independent reviewer I provide the board with assurance that a selection already underway is being done for the right reasons. Platforms evaluated at enterprise scale include SAP, Oracle, D365, Workday, NetSuite, Unit4, and Salesforce.

Working closely with WPP's Group CFO, developed a tiered ERP strategy covering the full global enterprise — rationalising a complex, multi-vendor landscape across 110 countries. Conducted platform selection across the major ERP vendors, producing a 3–5 year roadmap with coverage mapped by profit contribution and headcount across businesses and locations.

Programme Delivery & Interim Leadership

Good programme leadership is about judgement — knowing when a programme is in trouble before the RAG status turns red, and knowing how to have the difficult conversation with the SI partner. I have led enterprise technology programmes from business case through to go-live for thirty years, across sectors from aviation and media to professional services.

As adviser I work alongside your programme director, providing the senior counsel that keeps a complex programme on track. As interim I step in with full accountability for delivery.

Programme Rescue & Independent Assurance

Most ERP programmes that fail do so eighteen months before go-live — when scope was not controlled, the SI partner was not challenged robustly, or the board was receiving progress reports that did not reflect reality. I have seen enough to recognise the signs early and recovered enough to know what a turnaround takes.

As independent reviewer I give the board an honest picture of where a programme actually stands — without a stake in the answer. As recovery director I step in to lead the turnaround directly. SC Cleared and available at short notice.
